At Neshama Preschool, we value exposing the children to a variety of healthy foods in order to help expand our children’s food repertoire. Research shows that the more flavors and textures we introduce in the early years of your little one’s life, the more likely they are to become adventurous eaters later on. We’re here to help our preschoolers foster a lifelong positive relationship with food, cultivate healthy eating patterns and create a willingness to try new things. Vegetable consumption is an important component of a healthy diet; as one of the main food groups, vegetables provide fiber, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. With this in mind, the children are fed fresh veggies, soups, avocados, asparagus, cauliflower and more!
Each day, we offer a variety of choices for our pickiest little eaters, with the intention that everyone finds something that they can eat a sizable portion of. At the same time, children are exposed to new foods that they may not usually eat and are encouraged to widen their palette of healthy foods. They may even discover these new healthy dishes actually taste delicious! We also include a two week rotating lunch menu as this enables us to widen the variety of foods available and make it more interesting for the children.
We incorporate the right nutrients for our preschoolers' gut health, bone health, immunity and brain development. We use only GMO free oils for cooking. We use all natural chicken that is arsenic free, antibiotic free, hormone free and vegetarian fed. We are organic sensitive and use only organic for fruits and veggies that are on the “dirty dozen list”.
Throughout mealtime, teachers give a lot of positive reinforcement for:
*Healthy eating choices
*Trying new foods
*Eating neatly and using good table manners
We maintain the highest level of kosher standards. We serve Glatt Kosher meat, Chalav Yisroel dairy, and Pas Yisroel breads, crackers, and pretzels.
Our menu changes every few months with the help of our nutrition consultant and chef.
